History

FloraMax is a division of Turners & Growers Fresh Ltd. Flowers have been a part of Turners & Growers Fresh Ltd for the past 70 years or more. Initially started in Auckland, floral sales rapidly expanded around New Zealand. As the New Zealand consumer grew more accustomed to the purchase of floral product the business moved forward fast over those years. The past 10 years have seen a major change to greater professionalism in the industry on the back of developments around the world.

Nation-wide Coverage

The strength of FloraMax lies in its nation-wide coverage. The FloraMax group consists of three auction houses located in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

The experienced team is strategically placed to provide the customers with a unique and thorough quality of service. The FloraMax team has a dedication to quality control and is working continuously in conjunction with the industry on upgrading this control.

FloraMax imports a  range of tropical floral products and offers these for sale through our partners for sale to the domestic flower industry.

Into the Future

Like most New Zealand businesses the flower industry has experienced rapid change in the past few years. To keep up with these changes the FloraMax Team is continually updating systems and practices. Expectations are that production and demand for floral product will continue to grow, as the consumer becomes more aware of the benefits.

With a focus firmly on the future FloraMax designed and developed the flagship of their Floral Business on 3 Monahan Road, Mt Wellington, Auckland, which was officially opened on 16 May 2000.

Walk into the new auction hall and you could quite conceivably be in one of Europe's finest. The latest and most up to date technology has been implemented in these premises. The premises has been equipped with one of the worlds most advanced auction clock, based on the Dutch auction system.

There is no doubt this will keep FloraMax the major player in the local flower industry. The system was developed by Auxcis in Belgium and is being monitored by the Turners & Growers I.T Department.

FloraMax, as a division of Turners & Growers Fresh is responsible for auctioning  the majority of all flowers sold in New Zealand. The link with the parent company ensures all the strengths and benefits are made available to FloraMax.

Financial backing, reliable on-time payments to suppliers, state of the art systems and technology which provide access to the most up to date communications network company wide, and Customer Services all contribute to the stand-alone FloraMax enterprise.
