Merchant Netting

Merchant netting is a system that FCC uses, in conjunction with produce merchants, to streamline the process of charging and refunding deposits to growers. In many cases, this results in a significant improvement in cash-flow for the growers.

What is the Netting System?

When a grower hires crates from FCC, a deposit is charged on his account for the crates. The grower then sends the crates with produce to a merchant. The merchant advises FCC that they have received the crate, FCC will credit the Growers account, and then charge the merchant for the crate.
Provided that the grower has hired the crates, and sent it to a merchant within one credit period, the grower will not have to pay the deposit.

FCC currently nets with the following merchants and distributors:

  • Market Gardeners Ltd
  • Fusion Marketing Ltd
  • Vision Fresh Produce Marketing Ltd
  • Cockerill & Campbell 2007 Ltd
